Email Setup

Some people want their 4LPH41337.com email address forwarded to multiple locations (ie, home & work). Gmail allows this, but it's not very obvious. While it's easy to set up forwarding to one account, forwarding to multiple accounts is less documented.

Forwarding to one account

• Gmail Help, if the below no longer applies

1. Log into http://gmail.4lph41337.com
2. Click on "Settings" (in the upper righthand corner of your browser)
3. Click on "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" link
4. In the "Forwarding:" section, enter the email address to which you'd like your messages forwarded
5. Select the action you'd like your messages to take from the drop-down menu. You can choose to keep Gmail's copy of the message in your inbox, or you can send it automatically to All Mail or Trash.
6. Click Save Changes

Forwarding to multiple accounts

• Do this using Filters

1. Log into http://gmail.4lph41337.com
2. Click on "Settings" (in the upper righthand corner of your browser)
3. Click on "Filters"
4. Click "Create a new filter"
5. In the "To:" text box, enter "@", and click "Next Step"
6. Check the "Forward it to:" checkbox, and type the email address you want it forwarded to.
7. Add other options as you like
8. Click "Save Filter"

Forwarding to fans for race updates

• Do this using Filters

1. Log into http://gmail.4lph41337.com
2. Click on "Settings" (in the upper righthand corner of your browser)
3. Click on "Filters"
4. Click "Create a new filter"
5. In the "To:" text box, enter ".fans@", and click "Next Step"
6. Check the "Forward it to:" checkbox, and type the email address you want it forwarded to.
7. Add other options as you like
8. Click "Save Filter"

• (Josh) Here's how I setup mine, in case folks are interested:

1. i wanted a full-fledge email list for this
2. i setup a google group (email/web discussion list/RSS feed) at groups.google.com and invited all the people that may want race updates to subscribe to it (they will get emails). then, i made it private by modifying the settings in it (Group Setting->Access). at this point, the email address for the group is josh-forester-race-updates@googlegroups.com.
3. then, i went into my josh@4lph41337.com account and setup 2 filters as jack suggested, so that both josh.fans@teamrocgear.com and josh.fans@4lph41337.com forward to josh-forester-race-updates@googlegroups.com, and in turn forward to everybody that joined the list.
